The Recipe
- Find a drop-in conversation club or language corner at the nearest library or community centre, and take the first one running this week, not the best-reviewed.
- Turn up, say it is your first time, and let them pair you with someone learning your language.
- Talk for the hour the way you would with a friend (ordinary things, not a lesson) and follow their questions wherever they go.
- Before you leave, ask what they miss most about where they came from.
