Eat one meal across three places, a course at each

“Ordering a single course and getting up to pay feels like you are doing it wrong, right up until the second place, where nobody cares and the food is better for it.”

The Recipe

  1. Start at the nearest place doing a proper starter and order one course only: a soup, a small plate, no main.
  2. Pay and walk on; go into the first place you pass that could do a main.
  3. Order a main there and nothing else, and do not decide where pudding will be yet.
  4. Walk again and let pudding be the first bakery, café or stall you actually reach.
  5. Eat it where you land, and notice how far the meal has carried you from where you began.
