Find the grave the city still visits
“A cemetery is the last place most people would spend a free afternoon. But the old ones are where a city files its history, and the grave that still gets flowers tells you who it chose to keep.”
The Recipe
- Go to a cemetery big enough to have a map or a notable-graves sign at the gate.
- Use it to find one or two people the city clearly still honours, and walk to them.
- Read what is on the stone, and if the name means nothing to you, look up why it mattered here.
- On the way out, find the oldest date you can and stand with it for a moment.
