Follow a waymarked city walk for two hours
“Someone designed this route on purpose and marked it end to end, and you have walked past the little discs a thousand times. Trusting them over your own sense of direction is the whole exercise.”
The Recipe
- Find a waymarked walking route through your city, a signed trail with discs or markers, and get to a point on it, taking the first you turn up rather than the best.
- Follow the markers in one direction for two hours, trusting the route over your own instinct for where to go.
- When it forks and the waymark is missing, work it out from the map rather than guessing the obvious way.
- Leave it at a station or stop, and note where to rejoin it another day.
