Learn the name of whoever serves you
“Asking a server's name breaks a script you were both happy to keep. Then you've thanked a person instead of a counter.”
The Recipe
- Go to the nearest place where someone serves you at a counter.
- Ask their name, tell them yours, and use it when you thank them.
- Come back another day and use it again.
