The Recipe
- Find the city's old public bathhouse or hammam (the neighbourhood one locals use, not the spa in a hotel) and pay for entry plus the scrub.
- Sit in the steam room first and let the heat open you up before anything else.
- Hand yourself over to the attendant for the scrub, and do not flinch at how hard they go.
- Rinse, sit in the warm room afterwards, and stay until you have properly cooled.
